Whether you are a beginner just getting started or a more experienced Intermediate/Advanced caster who is about to make that special destination trip, Gary Turri will provide a great boost to your fly casting skills. A FFI Master Certified Casting Instructor, Gary is able to customize his lesson around your specific needs, with key elements for each skill level:
- Beginners learn to basic casts required to get you out on the water, including Roll Casts (regular and off-shoulder), Pick Up and Lay Down Casts. and False Casting to a target.
- Intermediate to Advanced casters learn how to control your loop and better efficiency in all the following methods:
- Single and Double Haul - for better distance
- Handling wind coming from all directions
- Slack Line Casts and Aerial Mends for better drag-free drifts
- Roll Casting with strike indicators, split shot, and multi-fly rigs
Lessons will be customized to the students' needs. A lesson is 2 hours. Going on a special destination trip and want to learn the casts you need to know? A pre-trip casting tuneup may be in order.
Loaner rods can be provided. Students need to bring eye protection, be prepared in case of inclement weather, and bring something for notes.
